Clinician1: Connect, Consult, Converse, Create

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who is eligible to become a member of Clinician 1?

Any Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensed in the United States is eligible to become a member of Clinician 1.

  • Why Do You Ask For MY NPI and State License Numbers

Simply, we ask for these numbers to insure you are a PA or NP.
Non NPs or PAs may want to come onto our site and join our community, some for reasons many would all object to. Your license number and NPI number are both available on public web sites (and in most states both numbers are on your prescriptions). These numbers insure that you are a PA or NP and can be verified by us if need be.
    Thanks.

  • Why won’t my username and password work immediately following registration?

You will not be able to login to Clinician 1 until your credentials have been verified. Usually, the verification process takes only a few minutes but it is possible it could take longer.  You will receive an email confirmation when you have been approved that has a link to confirm your email address and allow you to login and begin to use the system.

  • Will other members see my name when I participate in the community?

No. By default, members will see your username when you create or comment on a post, not your actual name (unless they are the same). If they click on your user name they will link to your profile page where they can read the profile information you have provided.

  • Can I post anonymously?

No. Anonymous posting is not allowed on the system.  We are looking for an open and honest exchanges of ideas and opinions amongst professionals. However only your user name will identify who you are.

  • Can I start my own Group?

Yes and No. You can start your own group of colleagues. You can not, without prior approval, start a new Special Interest Group. Only the administrator can create new Specialty or Special Interest Groups. We have set the system up this way so that core groups can have as many active users as possible.  However, we recognize that you may want to create a group of colleagues who share the same interests. So we invite you to submit the request in the Contact Us form and tell us the name of the group you would like to create and how many members you would expect to join it when it is launched. Obviously, we would like as many people enjoying Clinician1 as possible.

  • Clinician 1 Glossary

    Network

Your network is comprised of groups you belong to which are clinical or non-clinical in nature, as well as the numerous colleagues you have connected with on the system.  Once these connections are made you can then easily view conversations going on with your colleagues and in your groups.  The larger you grow your network of colleagues the greater the experience you will have on Clinician 1.  In addition, joining our groups will allow you to engage with members you do not know yet but who share similar interests.  When you find a member whose opinions you enjoy you can easily add them as a colleague.

    Posts

Posts are the lifeblood of Clinician 1.  Through the creation of and responses to posts the knowledge sharing power of the Clinician 1 system comes alive.  We encourage members to create posts on issues and topics where they want peer discussion. We encourage all members to participate in post surveys and discussion threads.  You can search postings by specialty and join in the discussion.
